To help keep Somerset Winter Wonderland joyful, safe and enjoyable for everyone, please take a moment to read our Terms & Conditions.
By entering the event and/or taking part in any activity, you agree to abide by the following rules.
1. Tickets & Bookings
- All skating and grotto bookings must be made through our official ticketing system.
- Tickets are non-refundable, except where required by law.
- Guests must arrive 10 minutes before skating sessions and on time for grotto bookings.
- Late arrival may result in reduced time or loss of session with no refund.
- Tickets are only valid for the date and time purchased.
- Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a paying adult on ice rink.
2. Safety & Behaviour
- All guests must follow instructions from event staff and skating marshals at all times.
- Children must be supervised by a responsible adult throughout their visit.
- Anti-social, aggressive or unsafe behaviour may result in removal from the event without refund.
- Running, climbing barriers, or entering restricted areas is strictly prohibited.
- Anyone suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or substances may be refused entry.
3. Weather & Operations
- Many attractions are undercover, and the event operates in most weather conditions.
- In extreme or unsafe circumstances, sessions may be paused, adapted or rescheduled for safety.
- Operational updates will be communicated on-site and via our official channels where possible.
4. Dogs & Animals
- Dogs are welcome at Somerset Winter Wonderland.
- All dogs must remain on a lead and under control at all times.
- Dogs are not allowed on the ice rink or in any restricted areas.
5. Photography & Filming
- Event photographers and videographers may capture footage for promotional and marketing use.
- By attending, you consent to being included in general event imagery.
- Personal photography is encouraged off the rink, but phones/cameras are not allowed on the ice.
6. Ice Skating Rules & Safety
Skating is undertaken entirely at your own risk.
All skaters must read and follow the rules below before entering the ice.
DO – While On the Ice
- Do put on skates in the designated skate-exchange area only.
- Do ensure skates are worn correctly and securely fastened.
- Do skate in the direction instructed (usually anti-clockwise unless staff direct otherwise).
- Do wear suitable warm clothing for skating and winter conditions.
- Do report any accidents to a member of staff immediately.
- Do listen carefully to all instructions from skating staff.
- Do dispose of rubbish in bins provided.
- Do leave the ice promptly when the session ends or when instructed.
DO NOT – While On the Ice
- Do NOT enter the ice without skates or approved grip footwear.
- Do NOT smoke or vape on or around the rink.
- Do NOT take bags, phones, cameras or personal items onto the ice.
- Do NOT wear hoods up while skating (affects visibility).
- Do NOT skate under the influence of alcohol or substances.
- Do NOT eat, drink, chew gum or bring food onto the rink.
- Do NOT play tag, push, perform tricks, speed skate or behave recklessly.
- Do NOT carry children or infants on the ice, at any time.
- Do NOT skate against the flow or cut across the middle of the rink.
- Do NOT sit or climb on the rink barriers.
- Do NOT skate backward, in chains, or in large groups.
- Do NOT throw, chip or spray ice.
- Do NOT gather in groups or remain stationary on the rink.
7. Skater Responsibilities
By skating at Somerset Winter Wonderland, all skaters agree to:
- Maintain reasonable control of their skating speed.
- Keep a proper lookout and avoid collisions where possible.
- Know their own ability and skate appropriately.
- Follow all signage, warnings and staff instructions.
- Leave the ice during resurfacing, emergencies or at the end of their session.
- Avoid behaviour that may cause harm to themselves or others.
- Refrain from disruptive, abusive or aggressive conduct.
Failure to follow the rules may result in removal from the rink or event without refund.
8. Assumption of Risk
By entering the rink as a skater or spectator, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of ice skating, including but not limited to:
- a) Collisions or contact with other skaters.
b) Slips, trips and falls.
c) Contact with ice, rink boards, or fixed structures.
Somerset Winter Wonderland, its organisers and staff are not liable for injuries, loss or damage except where required by law.
9. Right to Refuse Entry
Event management reserves the right to refuse entry or remove anyone who:
- Is acting unsafely
- Is disrupting the event
- Appears intoxicated or impaired
- Refuses to follow staff instructions
No refund will be issued in these circumstances.
